In a perfect world, you would devote about 90 minutes a day of study time to each course. But, in reality, most people don’t have that much time. Or, if you prefer, you can join a study group and be accountable to a group of people. You might learn faster with others when they share their viewpoints and different ways of solving problems. You will set yourself up for failure every time if you wait until the last minute to study for an exam. Not only will you not know the material, but more than likely, you will be too tired to care. Some people sail through the course without doing much work or giving the material much thought. Then, when exam time comes, they wish they had stayed on top of their work. Then comes the mad dash to cram in as much information as possible two days before the exam. This just doesn’t work. Keep up with your work throughout the semester. It should go without saying that you need to eat a balanced diet, get the right amount of sleep, and exercise to improve memory and brain function.
